On Tuesday, 15 February 2022, information about the imminent visit of Fifa boss, Gianni
Infantino, and African Confederation of Football chief, Patrice Motsepe, to Burundi appeared on social media.
According to Brigadier General Alexandre Muyenge, the Burundian Federation of
Football Boss, such visits are part of their bilateral plans but he insisted that these authorities are yet to confirm the modalities of this visit.
The last visit of a World Football Federation authority to Burundi dates back to 2005, when Sepp Blatter visited the country and launched the construction of the current Burundi Federation of Football headquarters.
