The national soccer team of Burundi, the Swallows, of the players evolving in the interior of the country, crushed Djibouti.
It was this Sunday, July 24, 2022 in the first leg when the Swallows crossed swords with the team of Djibouti, at the Benjamin Mkapa stadium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. It was in order to fight for the ticket to the African Nations Championship, whose particularity is that only players playing for a club in their country can participate.
The Swallows scored first with a goal by Muderi Akbar in the 12th minute but the Djiboutians equalized in the 35th minute of the game, and the first half ended in a tie. During the second half, the Burundian players respected the coach’s instructions and, in the 77th minute, Dany Cedric Kagabo scored the second goal that gave the victory to the Burundian team.
