A Nigerian investor opens a new english-based teaching university in Burundi

For students from Burundi and East African Community member States, the tuition-fees will be 3.150.000 burundian francs per semester while students from other countries will pay 3000 US dollars per semester. The university is located in Bujumbura in the premisses of the former Baguidas Hotel.

In the beginning, there will be three faculties, namely civil engineering, computer science and the faculty of business management and social sciences. The starting of
activities is expected in september 2022.

According to Sir Paul Chukwuma, the Nigerian
businessman and founder of the university, the University is meant to be a centre of academic excellence as they will combine theory and practice in their teaching. To achieve this vision, they envision that students will undergo internships of third year abroad, after two years of learning in

Paul Chukwuma indicates that there will be scholarship reserved for Burundian
students on condition that they be fluent in English and have a modest family background. For
