Imboneza FC, a team made up of former street children is representing Burundi in the former street children World Cup taking place in Qatar and it is doing well. The competition saw the participation of 28 countries from different parts of the world.
In the first 4 matches, Burundi won two of them while the other two ended in a draw. This made 8 points and allowed to team to move on to the quarter finals against Syria.
This is the third time Burundi participates in this competition, the first time dates back to 2014 in Brazil where they lost the final, and the second time was in Russia when Burundi got the third place.
